GoPro Quikstories

Not too long ago GoPro released an update for their smartphone app. It is called “Quikstories” and saves recorded videos and pictures through wifi and copies them onto your smartphone. It also edits your videos with cool filters, effects and music automatically, which result you can either save or change to your personal preference. An introduction video of GoPro shows that videos of the GoPro Karma, the Hero 5 Black or the Karma Grip are compatible with Quikstories. The only thing necessary is the recent update of the smartphone app and the camera software. The actual Quik-App is available for free in the Apple- and Google Play Store. Nicholas Woodman, GoPro founder and CEO says: “QuikStories is an easy feature to tell your own personal stories. Our users have waited years for this – she will change everything.”

GoPro Fusion

Fusion is the ultimate capture device for fully immersive virtual reality content, non-VR video, and even photos. It captures stunning 5.2K30 video and breathtaking photos in full spherical. Users will be able to record their moments in all directions and then go back and choose the composition they want. This is referred to as OverCapture or reframing. The Fusion is bigger and wider, but a lot flatter. There aren’t any exact measurements yet, but the Fusion weighs at least twice as much as the current Hero 5 model. The material of the camera is high-quality like always. One of the biggest differences is the non existent color display on the back, which was useful for replaying videos or looking back at taken pictures. The front screen with the important stats like the battery status will stay, same with the mono speaker on the bottom, the red record button and the settings button. Another feature is the “Overcapture” which lets you select the best pictures and videos of the last session. To make the 360° view work, the Fusion has another smaller lense. The base mount is the same, which means that the mounts of the hero series can be reused. Fusion saves everything on an micro SD card, but runs on a new battery type.
