
At Photokina 2018, ZEISS unveiled its first full-frame camera: the ZX1. The main features are the connectivity of a smartphone and the connection to the ZEISS lens series.
Attaching a smartphone to the camera allows quick and fast editing of the images on the device and immediately after the possibilty to post in online. Mounted on the ZX1, the ZEISS Distagon lens features auto-focus, 35mm focal length, and a maximum aperture of f2 tuned to the new 37.4-megapixel full-frame sensor. In addition, full integration with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC allows professional editing of RAW image files directly on the device. The user interface is equipped with a 4.3 “multi-touch display and the camera’s internal memory is 512 GB (estimated at 6,800 RAW files or more than 50,000 JPGs).
